New Features
- Integration StarWitness CloudScape - Signalscape has partnered with At-Scene, LLC to provide StarWitness CloudScape, a digital evidence management system (DEMS) for law enforcement agencies, prosecutors’ offices, and child advocacy centers. StarWitness Interviewer enables users to upload recordings directly to StarWitness CloudScape. Contact StarWitness Sales at www.starwitness.com for more information about StarWitness CloudScape.
- Integration with Guardify - Interviewer has been updated to enable users to upload recordings directly to their Guardify (formerly VidaNyx) accounts. Guardify is a digital evidence management system for child advocacy centers. Contact Guardify Sales at www.guardify.com for more information about the Guardify DEMS.
- SQL Server 2022 Express - StarWitness Interviewer is now bundled with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Express for metadata management. SQL Server 2022 Express is the latest version of SQL Server Express with many performance and security fixes.
Windows 10 or greater required
Microsoft ended extended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020 and is no longer providing updates, including security updates. You must update your StarWitness Interviewer system to Windows 10 or greater in order to install this update.
Known Issues
Error while importing from Field Interviewer HD
When importing from the Field Interviewer HD you may get the error: "Attempted to access a drive that is unavailable". To work around this issue, unplug all USB storage devices (thumb drives, external hard drives or SSD drives, phones, etc) except the Field Interviewer HD and re-attempt the import.
Upgrading
Some users are reporting that the upgrade fails during the SQL Server Express portion of the installation. When it fails the installation wizard reports:
Setup Failed.
0x84bb0001 - Unspecified error.
To resolve this issue, update Microsoft Edge to the latest version and then retry the StarWitness Interviewer setup. See Microsoft knowledgebase article KB4594205 for more information.
